A room of our own.
Bengaluru's DJs share the same clubs, the same crowds, the same 2 a.m. load-outs — and until July 2026, we'd never all been in the same room. The Bengaluru DJs Collective exists to change that, and then to build what a room like that makes possible.
What we are
We're a professional body for the DJs of Bengaluru. Not an agency, not a promoter, not a label. We don't book gigs and we never take a cut of anyone's fee. What we do is convene the community, raise the standards of the industry we all work in, and stand behind the people in it.
The four pillars
Monthly Editions. Free, open to every DJ in the city, no hierarchy, nobody performing.
A credible voice with venues, promoters and the wider industry. Shared standards. Published rate benchmarks.
Education on the parts of the job nobody teaches: pricing, contracts, tax, negotiation, craft.
A community fund for emergencies, equipment and education. Built slowly. Reported openly.
What we won't do
Stating this matters as much as stating the rest.
- We don't book gigs or take commission.
- We don't run club nights that compete with our members' work.
- We don't gatekeep on talent — every working or aspiring DJ is welcome.
- We don't let sponsors decide anything.
Who started it
Three DJs working in this city — Shain, Martin and DJ Vic. Not a company, not a promoter, not anyone's side project. Three people who play the same rooms as everyone else and had the same complaint: we all work in the same scene and we'd never met.
Nobody here is in charge of the Collective. It was started by DJs and it belongs to the DJs in it — what it becomes gets decided by the people who turn up, not by the three of us. That isn't modesty, it's the whole design.
Declared interests
One of us, DJ Vic, also hosts The Vic Fix and runs VR Entertainment. That's declared here rather than left to be discovered. He steps out of any Collective decision that touches those interests, and none of his companies can receive money from the community fund.
How it started
July 2026. Edition 01 was hosted at Watson's, Indiranagar, with 245 DJs registered — open format to Afro house, two years in to twenty. That mix was the point, and it turned up.
